Burbank, Topanga, Pacific Palisades, And Beverly Hilton Hotel Engagement Session Photos: Vicky + Dean

Vicky + Dean’s Engagement Session – When Vicky and Dean hired me to be their wedding photographer, I had no idea we were going to travel back in time 30+ years for their e-session! I was probably a bit overzealous during our consultation when they told me they were thinking of having a “travel, movie, and classic Hollywood” theme. We totally rocked it out yesterday, and to be quite honest with you, the session seriously felt like we went back to the 60s in old school City of Angels. Everything from the private jet shoot and the wilderness to the scooter ride on top of Pacific Palisades and the hotel room/lobby of Beverly Hilton Hotel all fit this unique and special theme that Vicky came up with.

I felt like a kid in a candy shop all of Saturday but at the same time like an agent on a secret mission with Vicky and Dean. It was just totally rad (for a lack of a better term) to see the private airplane ready for us when we got to the airport. The staff there was super nice and drove us from our cars to the runway. Then later we stopped by one of the Canyon highways in Topanga and ventured off-road to a small wilderness-ish area. We then dashed to the top of the mountains to rendevous with the guy renting us the scooter, and finally hit the hotel around Sunset – a classic ending to Vicky and Dean’s movie.

Outside of their e-session, Vicky and Dean are fantastic and a joy to know/work with. I was telling myself if photographing amazing people like them was supposed to be “working”, then by all means I hope I get to do this everyday because it’s just too much fun :). Thank you guys a ton for flying down from the Bay area to hang out with me yesterday and just being so considerate and wonderful – for being so patient with me at all the different places we shot at, for finding a wedding date and place that would also work with my schedule, and simply being in my life. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek – see you again in May!
