Lately, with the huge influence of two of my good photography friends Brian Fletcher and Brian Dowling, as well as the most talented musician I know/one of my best friends Shane Kanoa, I’ve been thinking of incorporating new elements into my wedding photography style. I’ve always looked outside the wedding industry for inspiration and motivation, especially in different culture, history, the technical world, and even with my interests in the NBA and traveling.
Being recently inspired by fashion, movies/television shows, music, as well as the usage of light in different ways, I just wanted to experiment with new techniques and see where they lead to. I always told myself that the day I stop improving and losing passion for photography is the day I stop shooting. And I know I have a long, long ways to go on where I eventually want to be at.
That being said, one of my good friends and former engineering co-worker/boss Vince Ngo and I collaborated on a photo shoot this past Friday. Vince got an amazing actor Jordan Warren and actress Misty Madden to model for us. I can’t say enough great things about these two. Misty and Jordan were so much fun to not only shoot but also to get to know, as they were so down to earth and patient with us. The four of us spent the day driving, eating, shooting, and simply hanging out.
Stay tuned for more photo shoots, and if you want to collaborate on one, please feel free to just contact me and we’ll go from there :). Thanks again to Vince, Misty, and Jordan for a great time on Friday. And folks, be sure to check out Misty and Jordan’s work. I’m really looking forward to watching their movies and shows as soon as I get a chance!
