While in Canada earlier last month, I got an e-mail from Ross Dean, creator of Photo Night Live, the UK’s first web-based television show on all-things photography. It’s geared towards both aspiring and professional photographers.
A brand new show airs every Friday evening at 7PM GMT. To quote the about section of the site, “The format is a little different to other shows. We invite one Pro Photographer at the top of their game and one emerging photographer who you may not yet be aware of in order to get a really cool discussion from both ends of the professional spectrum.
Each 30 min show is designed to give the viewers an in depth view into the world of pro photography, whilst matching up names who you probably would not see anywhere else, engaged in discussion. It also provides excellent exposure to the emerging photographer and allows them to showcase themselves to the wider community.”
That being said, it was a huge honor for me to be asked by one of UK’s up-and-coming wedding photographer Liesl Cheney to be the pro photographer on last week’s show. We had the Skype interview at 12PM noon my time and 8PM UK time. From starting your own business and maintaining it to marketing/pricing/branding and finding your style, Ross, Liesl, and I tried to cover as much ground as possible in the 1.5 hour chat.
