Jennifer + Jim’s Wedding – 11/27/2010 – This past Saturday was the first of a few things for me as a wedding photographer. It was the first time meeting a couple (in person for the first time – lots of first!) at the wedding; it was also the smallest wedding I’ve ever covered – four individuals including the bride and groom; and it was the shortest wedding I’ve ever captured – just about three hours.
But there were so many wonderful things about Jennifer and Jim that made their elopement ceremony just as (if not more) emotional, personal, and memorable as the more traditional weddings. Their day took place on the grounds of the beautiful Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, a place I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a few times in the last month. And every time I come back, I seem to find something new and special about it. The scenery, weather, and of course, the staff at Terranea were amazing.
I just want to thank Jennifer and Jim, as well as their good/newlywed friends Fera and Eli (congrats guys!), for inviting me to capture this magical day. It was such a huge honor and an experience I’ll never forget. We braved the chilly weather and even climbed a few fences (don’t tell the staff at Terranea :P) to get some of the portraits. Also, special thanks to my man Brian Fletcher, who was unavailable to work this past weekend, for referring me to Jennifer and Jim.
For the photos, instead of showing a preview first, I want to share with you the slideshow. Since Jenn and Jim’s wedding was so intimate and non-traditional, I’d thought it would be best to just show all the photos instead of doing a sneak peek first :).
