Sherry + Lance’s Wedding: 9/10/2011 – Wow..it’s been quite a September! But I wouldn’t change any of it for the world, as on 9-10-11, I had the distinct honor and pleasure of working with two of the most amazing individuals ever in Sherry and Lance. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the connection I had with these two. From the moment I met Sherry and Lance at my studio to doing their engagement session, and now having photographed their big day, there’s no doubt this wonderful couple will always have a special place in my heart.

The day was coordinated to perfection by none other than Melissa and Elsa of ME Events and Design. It was because of them that I met Sherry and Lance, so thank you Mel and Elsa…words can’t describe how much you both mean to me and my crazy photography business! And where on earth do I begin to describe how memorable of a day Sherry and Lance’s wedding was. Perhaps it was how happy and care-free they were all day long. Or perhaps it was seeing how joyous and proud both Sherry and Lance’s parents were. Or perhaps it was how much fun and stress-free Sherry and Lance made it for Brian and me, always willing to take one more photo for us :).

You can’t ask for a more awesome couple than Sherry and Lance. They wore their emotions on their sleeves all day, and created one countless memory after another. And you can’t ask for a more funny yet stand-up guy in Lance and a more easy-going, relaxed, and fun bride in Sherry. It’s no wonder they make a perfect pair! I can only hope to experience as much love and joy as these two. To Sherry and Lance, I wish you nothing but the very best in life. Safe travels to wherever your adventures take you, and like all your friends back in the states, I hope you return home sooner than later :).

Sheree + Collin’s Wedding: 9/9/2011 – The greatest thing a bride and groom can give me is not their financial investment or even the amount of time I get for portraits, but is their complete, 100% trust in me. Sheree and Collin not only gave me that trust, but lived their wedding day like it was truly the happiest day of their life. Along with fifty of their closest family and friends, this one-of-kind, amazing couple celebrated like there wasn’t a care in the world.

I often get asked what my ideal couple is. It’s tough to say as I’ve had so many wonderful brides and grooms, and each is wonderful and unique in their own ways. However, there’s no question or any doubt that Sheree and Collin are simply perfect in my mind. They’re more beautiful inside than out, and have hearts filled with so much happiness and love. And speaking of love, every single second of Sheree and Collin’s wedding day was filled with just that.

From their adorable parents and hilarious siblings (super awesome wedding party!) to a beautiful church ceremony and intimate reception, I simply couldn’t have asked for more. It’s tough to pick a favorite moment from last Friday, as there was quite a few. Only the photos could describe how funny Collin and his brothers were. From the getting ready moments to even the formals, Collin, Elliott, and Niles (hope I spelled your names right guys!) were a riot. Not to be outdone were Sheree, who had a few robot dance moves and facial expressions of her own :).

And what an honor it was for both myself and my second shooter Vince to be treated like guests at the reception, as Sheree and Collin made name cards for and provided us a seat at the guest tables. It was also super sweet how Collin’s mom Nancy took the time to chat with us and made sure we got fed. But what meant the most to me was how everyone, from the super cute baby boy to Sheree and Collin themselves wore their emotions on their sleeves all day and evening long. To be called not a photographer but an artist and friend by Sheree and Collin has to be one of my favorite compliments ever. Thank you both for everything.

Karen + Ronson’s Wedding: 9/2/2011 – Folks always ask me if I ever get burnt out from shooting weddings and when I’ll ever give myself a break for my own family and friends. But when you have individuals like Karen and Ronson who trust me to document the biggest day of their life, and just how wonderful they are, the last thing on my mind is to slow down. It’s the undeniable love these two have for one another that I feed off of. And how much they mean to their family and friends that get me really excited to capture every single moment.

From the moment I showed up at the JW Marriott Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, I saw Ronson grinning ear to ear. And when I went to see Karen, she couldn’t be more thrilled to marry the man of her dreams. Their big day was 12 years in the making, as Karen and Ronson met back in high school. Their reception slideshow was filled with so many photos of themselves. I can only imagine how amazing those 12 years were, and how many new memories these two are going to create after their wedding.

Everything from the time we had for portraits and the bridal party to the lighting at the ceremony and the details conducted by Trini of NOZZA Studio was PERFECT. The 10+ hour day flew by like seconds, but there were countless moments left and right for me to capture. I loved how Karen and Ronson both had surprises for each other and how they exchanged roses during the ceremony. And just how wonderful it was working with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen (shout-out to one of the MOHs Amy, whose my June 2012 bride, all thanks to Karen and Ronson).

Congratulations to Karen and Ronson, thank you both beyond words and images for your investment, and more so, your friendship in me. Amidst a wild Summer season of weddings,  it was very heartwarming and relaxing to work with a sweet couple like you guys :). I’m really inspired to see your love for one another stronger than ever after 12 years. Enjoy Hawaii!
