Julie + Ken’s Engagement Session – I think there’s a fine line between taking photos and telling a love story. This past Sunday, Julie and Ken not only helped me find this line, but they carried me as we crossed it with flying colors. They took THEIR love story – how they met, their first date, where they went to school, their career background, and even where they proposed – and incorporated every part of it into their engagement session. I always kid with my couples to bring a lot of energy, excitement, and love for their session, especially for one that will last the entire day :). Julie and Ken brought all of that and then some! They were all smiles, hugs, kisses, and several silly and downright funny jokes with me all day.
We went alllll over Los Angeles; from Chinatown where I took photos of the mural Julie and Ken painted together to the Natural History Museum (because Julie is a high school history teacher) to UCLA (cause duh! they went there :P) to Santa Monica Pier and Beach (where they had their first date and Ken proposed to Julie). I was so stoked when Julie e-mailed me an itinerary of all the places she and Ken wanted to photograph at along with their desired attire. Some of you know me as being in some nutty zone/trance when shooting so my creative lights went crazy when Julie and Ken presented me with an amazing blank canvas to “paint” their e-session images.
THANK YOU guys so much for a memorable Sunday. I can’t tell you how excited Iam for 7/11/09 to come. And for those of you that might be a little curious, it was Julie and Ken who really made me believe I could do this whole wedding photography thing last June and take things to a new level. There’s a whole story in itself but I’m so grateful for all of your inspiration and simply believing in me to be the one to capture your big day :).
