The heart and soul of little ones, like the Virginia leaves in the Fall, are so colorful, pristine, and beautiful. Last Thursday, Nancy and I took a day-trip down to Richmond to say hello to our friends, both the big and little ones :P, the Gupta and DePalma family. I can’t believe a year has passed since we first met Reena, Atul, little Aashna, Atul’s sister Appy, and her two kids Sarina and Nikhil.

This time around, all the kids, are a year-older; but a new little one joined the party. Just a few months old is Arya Gupta, who was so good during the entire portrait session. She smiled, laughed, stared, and even fell asleep in front of the camera :). Also, Api’s husband/Sarina and Nikhil’s dad Michael and Reena’s mom – whose just super duper sweet, joined us on the shoot.

Kids behaved liked kids, adults behaved liked adults (and at times like kids too :), as the Guptas and DePalmas enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in Richmond at a place called Maymont Park. It was so much fun chasing the kids around, and for just a few hours, getting an idea of what it’s like to be one again. We had waterfalls, bridges, leaves, ducks, and stepping stones to play with. We talked about Gummy Bears, witches, skeletons (as it was a few days before Halloween), and for the most part, simply acted like there wasn’t a care in the world.

Thank you to the Guptas and DePalmas for inviting me into your lives once again. Faith, luck, and love brought us together again. It’s rare for me to get a chance to work with families, especially ones with kids. I’m just so thrilled and blessed to get another opportunity to see you guys. I can’t wait for the next time we all hang out together, perhaps October of 2011? Until then…take care and best wishes :).
