What is up photography world! It’s been a while since I posted something for my fellow photographers on this blog. I’d like to introduce you to the very first “Henry’s Photo Tips” video, where I’ll answer any and all your questions regarding (wedding) photography. This will be a bi-weekly thing and about 10-15 minutes worth of information. In this first video, I talked about three important things: upcoming photography workshop, coaching/mentoring program, and just going through some e-mails I’ve received last month from other photographers. Be sure to check out the “For Photographers” category here on this blog for all the (hopefully) helpful photography articles. If you’d like your questions answered in an upcoming video, please feel free to let me know.

Photography Workshop Update
Due to a few requests from both aspiring and seasonal photographers, I plan on having a few more workshops in the upcoming months. There will be two types: one more on the beginner’s level (knowing how to use your camera, working in aperture/shutter/manual mode, basic editing/retouching, etc.) and one for the more intermediate, where you’re looking to take your business to the next level. The workshop will be at The Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Long Beach. I’m also available to come to your studio, classroom, or anywhere else if you’d like to host me and my workshop. Dates are currently TBD but will be set as soon as I get following info from interested indivduals:
- Which workshop are you interested in?
- Do you prefer a weekend or weekday workshop? If weekend, the earliest I can have it will be late October/November. If you’re okay with a weekday, then the earliest will be in July/August.
- What are the 3 major areas you’re looking to improve in and where would you like your business to be in a year?
- A little bit about you (what you like do, how you got into photography, etc.).
Here are a few testimonials from my recent workshop attendees:
“I had the great privilege to get to know Henry as a person and not a photographer, but after I heard he was providing a photography workshop for the very first time I couldn’t resist but quickly sign up. The workshop was very intimate and directed to your personal need on how to successfully begin your business. Henry made sure to cater to everyone based on their experience. He genuinely cares and wants to see you succeed. The workshops are by far one of the main reasons why I’ve grown so much with my photography, and with Henry’s guidance and support I hope to reach to his level one of these days. Thanks again Henry and keep up the awesomeness.” – Kenny Phan
“Henry is that kind of person who inspires you. And it does it very naturally. I had an opportunity to take his workshop recently to help building my skills as a photographer and to help with the business side of it. Tons of useful information and hands on “action”. Many tips and valuable direction. Great workshop.” – Frederic Tiberghien
“Besides being an innovative, cutting-edge artist, Henry is a skilled and inspirational teacher who cares deeply about his students’ success. Just one day learning beside him dramatically increased my photography and business development skills. On top of that, I had a great time. Henry’s talent, enthusiasm, and energy is contagious!” – David Barcelona
“I had a great time at Henry’s workshop. He is was very informative and explained things very clearly. He shared a lot with us from his own personal and business experiences. He was very open and answered all questions very thoroughly. Throughout the day, Henry was very personable and he showed that he really cared about “my business” and that he really wanted us to succeed! The only problem was that I wish it it went longer!!! I couldn’t believe how quickly time passed. I look forward to attending another one of Henry’s workshops.” – William Kim
Coaching/Mentoring Sessions Update
In the event that you can’t join me in person for the workshop but would still like my guidance and help, I encourage you to sign up for my coaching/mentoring session. I’ve finally had a chance to make some time every week (namely Mondays and Fridays during the day) to interact with you one-on-one and help you grow your photography hobby or business. This is where I tailor the entire hour or two session to what you want. Coaching can be over the phone or via web. Prices are $75/hour with a maximum of two hours per session ($150).
If interested or have questions on the workshop and/or coaching session, please feel free to contact me. I’ll leave you with a sneak peak/behind-the-scenes image from Saturday’s wedding at Rancho Las Lomas. Full post coming later this week!
