Liesl + Greg's Wedding: 12/21/2009 - Before saying goodbye to South Africa back in December, I second shot for the third time in a four-day span with Christine Meintjes. Although all the weddings I worked with her was incredibly beautiful (the venue, flowers, details...everything!), each one was so unique and different from the others. Liesl and Greg were such kind and thoughtful people. It's no surprise their amazing day right along the coast of Cape Town was filled with so much love and joy.

I shot Greg and his brothers getting ready and even had a chance to chat with them before the ceremony started. Within minutes, the family was calling me by my first name, asking how I was doing, and just treating me like part of the wedding. You couldn't be happier for two people like Liesl and Greg! Although I met them on their wedding day, I truly felt like I've known L + G for a while.

And once again, extra special thanks to Christine for inviting me to shoot three ever-amazing weddings with her and also to Iaan for showing Nancy and me all around Stellenbosch/Cape Town. It was truly an experience of a lifetime, one I'll never forget. See you guys in Vegas at WPPI!

WPPI 2010 Las Vegas Trash The Dress Private Workshop. It's on like Donkey Kong! Full details here. Please either follow me on Twitter or contact me to get the latest news on this workshop.

I'll be visiting Vegas tomorrow (Friday, February 5th) to scope out the various locations. There's also a small chance the ever famous Neon Graveyard will allow me to conduct part of the workshop there (they are currently under rennovation).

Space for this private workshop, plus an hour of one-on-one coaching during WPPI, is limited to 6. Registration is now open, please let me know if you have any questions or interested in signing up. See you all in Sin City!

HCP Mixer #3 - Branding. Ka-pow! More info on March's branding mixer can be found here. Thank you to those that have attended the January and/or February ones here at the studio. I promise this one on branding will be another information overload presentation/discussion, a brain freeze if you will. There's no cost to attend these mixers, but you may want to bring your own chair unless you don't mind standing ;).

HCP Mixer #4 - Packages and Pricing. Deja vu! Same details as the previous three, but the topic is on packages and pricing for the fourth one. More info here. Apologies but I don't have any photos from yesterday's album workflow mixer; however, here's a recap of the January one.

Now let the good times roll, see you on the other side :).

Jeany + Andrew's Engagement Session - It's hard to believe from these photos and hanging out with them, but Jeany and Andrew are grown-ups :). If I couldn't see, I'd guess they are in elementary school doing what kids do best - goofing off, being silly, and making fun of each other. That's exactly what happened on Saturday at Heritage Park and Cerritos Library.

You couldn't leave these two crazy kids alone for a sec. They showed all the kids running around how you can be adults and still have fun at a park. And at the library, we did everything but stay quiet and follow the rules. Jeany and Andrew are filled with so much personality and awesomeness. I met them not too long ago and am very excited for their early April wedding on a yacht. Thanks guys for...well, scaring the kids away :). And Andrew, very smooth lines to Jeany at the library, no wonder you won her heart so quickly ;).

Almost forgot, extra thanks to Joel Arellano for assisting and shadowing me on this shoot. It's been really fun and rewarding meeting new photographers and connecting with them on these e-sessions. Thanks again Joel!

In an oh-so-sweet way, last Friday's Wedding Clique mixer for wedding couples at the studio was the highest point of my wedding photography business. Not only was I surrounded with all the wonderful couples that have given me the opportunity to do what I love, but I got the chance to enjoy the evening with some amazing vendors/good friends.

Deanne of Bella Fiore put together the fabulous floral arrangements. Raul and Johnny of R&R Entertainment provided top-notch DJ-ing service, Erica of Erica O'Brien Cake Design baked a delicious cake and had another on display, Mary of Jay's Catering was more than gracious to provide yummy catering, and Trini of NOZZA Studio was the mastermind being the whole thing - planning, coordinating, and putting the mixer together. Special thanks to William Kim for stopping by and taking photos of the mixer.

On behalf of all the vendors that help put the mixer together for our couples, I know I speak for all of them when I say, "Thank you." Thank you to our brides and grooms for coming to the Friday event and supporting us. Without you and your trust in what we do, there would be no Henry Chen Photography, Bella Fiore, NOZZA Studio, etc. I'm forever grateful in each and every one of you for allowing me to come into your life and choosing me to capture your day. Seeing our friendship continue to grow well after the wedding day puts a huge smile on my face and that warm fuzzy feeling in my heart :). Until our next client mixer, keep on being in love, re-falling in love, and being fantastic!
