Jennifer + Jacob’s Wedding: 2/12/2011 – Although I officially met Jacob when I photographed his older brother Josh and wife Allison’s wedding in late 2008, this past Saturday felt like the first time saying hello to him and Jennifer. But it took merely a few seconds to go from strangers to friends with Jennifer and Jacob, as they truly are two wonderful individuals with so much personality and heart.
While my second photographer Brian hung out with Jacob and the guys, I had a chance to capture Jennifer and the girls getting ready. It gave me a chance to chat with the bride-to-be and find out a bit more about herself and Jacob. The ceremony and reception were both held at Jacob’s uncle/aunt house in Stevenson Ranch, a small community off the 5 Freeway in the Valencia/Santa Clarita area. It was amazing to see all the guests provide a helping hand in making this wedding possible.
The way Jennifer and Jacob’s loved ones aided in the setup and decoration, and some traveled from afar to attend this intimate wedding, is a testament to how wonderful this couple is to everyone. And for me personally, their big day was extra special as I had a chance to witness how much Jacob meant to his older brother Josh. Thanks to Josh and his beautiful wife Allison, I’ve been able to meet and work with several of their loved ones. I kid with Allison and Josh that they own a third of my company, as they’ve sent me so much business over the past few years :).
There’s a reason why my favorite weddings are the intimate ones with so much emotion, love, and timeless moments. It’s not the details or venue that really inspire me to pick up the camera. But instead, it’s the bride, groom, and all their loved ones celebrating as if there’s no tomorrow. I feel so blessed to have experienced that at Jennifer and Jacob’s wedding.
