Recap Of Los Angeles Workshop And Announcing Canada Workshop In August 2009

This past weekend, I had my very first wedding photography workshop right here in my hometown of Los Angeles, CA. Rather than blabbing about how much fun I had, I thought I make a video and blab about it that way :). But in a nutshell, the workshop was broken into two parts. The first one was on Saturday and consisted more of an intro to wedding photography, some late afternoon shooting and posing a couple, plus touching upon workflow and marketing. Part two was on Monday evening, covering a few advanced topics like low-light shooting, using off-camera flash, shooting at night, album design, and branding. Check out the video below for a recap plus an update on the coaching sessions and my next workshop, which will be in the Vancouver, Canada area from 8/27-8/29!

I just want to thank everyone that attended. You guys gave me the chance to do the two things I love the most this past Saturday and Monday: photography and teaching. I hope you walked away with a boat load of ideas, movitation, and even inspiration on growing your business :). Here are a few attendees who have already updated their blog with some uber awesome images from the workshop: Kenny Phan with part one and part two, new wedding photographer Frederic Tiberghien, and my good friend whose also one of my coaching mentee Jenny Hsieh. And here’s some behind-the-scene shots of me doing my thang; photos were taken by Jenny (thank you!):

And here’s the flier for the Canada (wedding photography) workshop, which will be from August 27th-29th:

You don’t have to be a wedding photographer or even be interested in weddings to attend; if you’re interested in photographing people and just photography in general, I highly encourage you to enroll :). Similar to the Los Angeles one, this workshop will be tailored specifically to the needs and interests of the attendees. Registration is officially open, so please click here to sign up or contact me if you have any questions.

One last thing: I mentioned in the video from above that I’ll share with you some shooting/lighting insights from recent e-mails, but it’s getting super late and I need to pack for a mini-road trip to Vegas for a portrait and e-session shoot. I promise to have that video up when I return. Thanks for your patience!

Hi Henry, thank you so much for offering your time and these two amazing workshops! I learned so much in so little time and left with a lot of inspiration and motivation. I really liked the night/low light workshop. That was a lot of fun, especially trying out the variety of lighting tools. Thanks for being such a great mentor! We’re looking forward to more workshops! =)
