Sandy + Mike’s Engagement Session – The only thing that is larger than the love Sandy and Mike have for each other is the amount of energy and endurance that radiated last Saturday! We had an epic 8+ hour engagement session in the heart of San Francisco, CA. I actually met them for the first time ever the evening before at a lovely restaurant in Oakland. We’ve been exchanging e-mails (of which Sandy wins hands down on most thorough/longest ever) the first few months and had our first phone conversation about a week or two beforehand. This only explains one of two things: either Sandy and Mike are insane enough to trust some whacko wedding photographer in me or they actually like my stuff ;). Definitely gotta be the former!

They met on the grounds of UC Davis during college and have been together ever since. Sandy and Mike are tying the knot this winter in the Sacramento/Richmond area! But for their e-session, we went all over SF: Palace of Fine Arts, Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, Legion of Honor, Baker Beach, intersection of Hyde and Lombard looking down on Fisherman’s Wharf, and finally Union Square. Seriously, it was like a crash course of the bay area attractions in a day! I just loved Sandy and Mike’s choice of clothing, including their actual (yes, actual!) wedding day dress and suit. They even wore the traditional Chinese attire (with matching tie from Mike!) and some uber chic outfits. Great, great stuff guys!

We fought through cold/windy weather, random bums asking us for money, people looking at us all day long, a million and one outfit changes :P, and even a “dead rat” on the steps of Union Square. Thank you guys (and a special shout out to Allison and Nancy for lending us a hand all day and night long) for putting up with my crazy photography antics. And an extra special thank you to Philina, Sandy and Mike’s college friend and my long lost distant cousin!, for introducing them to me. See you all again in early December!
