Sanaz + Arash’s Wedding: 3/13/2010 – WOW. I still can’t get enough of Sanaz and Arash‘s unbelievable day at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown LA. It was a blend of both the Jewish and Persian culture, filled with so much life, emotion, and joy. To say everyone danced for the entire reception wouldn’t be an exaggeration at all. Sanaz and Arash weren’t kidding when they said their family and friends knew how to have a good time. So good that their party lasted until 2AM, which actually turned into 3AM due to daylight savings time. See, the love of Sanaz and Arash was so strong they were able to move time ;).
I also love how they put such a high priority on photography, making sure I had ample time to take photos. Since Sanaz and Arash opted to not have a bridal party, all the focus and images were on them. We had a chance to drive out to Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills for portraits, then stopped by Walt Disney Concert Hall for a few minutes of additional photos.
It was really crazy (from a schedule standpoint) but interesting to have the signing of the Ketubah (Jewish wedding contract) at 7PM, the Jewish and Persian ceremony at 8PM (you read that right!), and the reception around 9PM. And how did we start the reception? By over an hour of non-stop dancing! I felt like I was at a rock concert; the music and dancing were amazing though and really added to the vibe of the entire day.
Please enjoy some of my favorites, I’ll have a slideshow of the entire wedding a bit later. And I must say, after shooting my first Persian wedding, I’m really hoping to book a few more! Special thanks to William Kim for second shooting and Jared Crawford for assisting.
