Veronica + Jove’s Wedding: 4/18/2009 – Ever feel like you’re attending an old friend’s wedding as a guest and not as the photographer? That’s exactly how I felt this past Saturday at Veronica and Jove‘s unforgettable day. I met them over a year ago and within that time, we’ve been communicating through e-mail, text, and even Facebook. I’ve even had the pleasure of knowing some of their family and friends through the online medium. It was truly exciting and humbling to show up this past Saturday and finally meet Veronica and Jove’s loved ones. It felt like we somehow went to high school or college together in some other world, as I was able to blend right in with everyone, get to know them a little better, and document the joy and love they brought to Veronica and Jove’s special day.

Just a few of the many memorable moments I remember from the day: Jove and his brother Marcus were beyond hilarious. I absolutely LOVED Marcus’ best man toast to his brother; and not to be outdone by Veronica’s high school friend and maid of honor Candace. The slideshow that Jove’s cousin put together was just WOW. There were not only photo but VIDEO recording of Jove’s proposal to Veronica in Italy and loads and loads of heart felt remarks by their loved ones. Definitely the best slideshow I’ve ever seen and experienced at a wedding. Oh yeah, one of Veronica’s bridesmaids is Patty and NOT, I repeat, NOT Peggy (as I mistakingly called her that a kazillion times that day). Sorry Peggy, I mean Patty :).

Jove’s mother, really? I thought that was your older sister as she was way too young and hip for the younger folks, dancing her heart out during the mother-son dance and later that night on the dance floor. Unbelievable performance by the Medina kids, WOW. “Shalalalala I wanna kiss the girl!” My awesome second photographer Kenny captured some unbelievably funny Jove plus groomsmen shots before the cremony. You’ll have to check out his blog for a preview on some of them. Too funny, especially the basketball and supermarket images :). I can go on and on…on just how much FUN this wedding was. I’ve yet to photograph one of my friend’s wedding but Veronica and Jove’s definitely felt like I was doing just that. Thank you and your wonderful family and friends for a memorable Saturday. I know I’ll be talking to you both very, very soon. As a matter of fact, *hops on over to Facebook* :). Enjoy your honeymoon in Mexico!
