Katie + Marc’s Wedding: 7/4/2009 – While many were celebrating the birthday of this country last Saturday, I had the opportunity to work with two wonderful people in Katie and Marc. Thanks to Kelly of Furiwa, who provided the catering, and also of Lifetime Weddings, who pretty much provided everything else, I was able to meet this lovely couple last month. I had worked with Kelly at a previous wedding in 2008 and she was super duper sweet and thoughtful to remember me and refer me to Katie and Marc.
To be quite honest with you, I was a bit nervous the morning of the wedding because I had only met Marc a few weeks ago and talked more about my photography services/packages and not too much about him and Katie, which is what I always want to do with every couple I meet. And I didn’t even meet Katie until the day of her wedding, which was a first for me! That being said, the chemistry I had with Marc and Katie felt like we had known each other for years. I loved how she was so easy-going and relaxed all day long, making my job so much easier and more fun. Marc was focused and a bit intense on making sure we had enough time for photos, which I really admired as it took the pressure off of me to ensure we were on schedule :).
The day started bright and early for me and my team, but it flew by so quickly. We had the traditional tea ceremony (shortest one ever with just the parents giving gifts!), followed by a Catholic ceremony (I think my 7th or 8th one of the year!), lots of time for portraits, a re-enactment of the getting ready stage, and reception at the Doubletree Hotel in Santa Ana. So thanks again to Katie and Marc for trusting “some random guy” to show up and photograph your beautiful day ;). I wish you both the very best in your life together!
