I was beyond ecstatic when I got a Facebook message from Anna and Lonngren a few weeks about meeting up for dinner, not only to see them again before they move to South Africa in a few weeks, but to meet little Adriaan, their few months-old son. It’s been an unbelievable two+ years knowing Anna and Lonngren, as they not only trusted me to photograph their wedding in January of 2009 and introduced me to Vasti and Pieter, but they’re two of the most kind-hearted and inspiring people I’ve ever met.

I told Anna and Lonngren I’ll only have dinner with them if they let me do a portrait session :). They’re the very first couple/family I’ve shot an engagement session, wedding, and now family session with, and what an honor and pleasure it has been every single time! Yesterday, along with Anna’s bridesmaid/good friend Anita who was visiting, we all went over to Rancho Palos Verdes and snapped a few photos of the Taljaards simply being happy and loving each other.

It’s just amazing how certain individuals, either with their laugh, words, and actions, can totally change one’s outlook on life. That’s what Anna and Lonngren have done to me. They’re the epitome of what it means to love one another unconditionally and living life to the fullest. Anna and Lonngren’s faith in the man upstairs and in each other brought them together and will soon carry the family back over to South Africa (Lonngren was from there).

Thank you guys for always giving so much to me. Everything from your time and wise words to how you love Adriaan and willingness to help others have inspired me in more ways than you can imagine. I hope these images travel with you to South Africa. I’ve no doubt we’ll see each other again soon…much love and wishes!
